Killarney is a vibrant and colourful town, full of quirky craft shops, gorgeous galleries, fascinating museums, and a multitude of superb cafes, restaurants and bars, all of which contribute to our town’s unique atmosphere. But of course, it’s Killarney’s combination of beautiful mountains, sparkling lakes, and ancient forests that are known and loved all over the world. And with the well known hospitality and friendliness of the locals you’ll see why this is a very special place indeed.

Killarney has developed a sophisticated tourism industry with lots to enchant those who chose to come here. These include a huge range of guided tours, from historic buildings to the Ring of Kerry, to the much loved traditional horse-drawn jaunting cars with their famous drivers, the ‘Jarveys’. These men are one part local historians, one part tourist guides, and three parts guardians of aural tradition. Engage with these lads and your journey with them will last you a lifetime.

The Lakes of Killarney are famous all over the world and a huge amount of activities revolve around them. Fishing is legendary on all waterways around Killarney and the lakes are no exception. Off-water, the vast Killarney National Park stretches for miles around, with a huge network of superb walking trails winding their way under the canopy of one of Europe’s oldest oak and yew forests.
